CSA Philosophy

It's as easy as CSA

Our mission is to demystify anti-ageing skincare. At Medik8 we believe the secret to healthy and beautiful skin for life is as easy as vitamin C plus sunscreen by day, vitamin A by night. This straightforward strategy is clinically proven to deliver results you can see as well as feel. That’s why we are dedicated to refining this simple philosophy – developing ever-increasingly advanced CSA formulas. A key part of our refresh is to help you look after your skin following simple, expert advice.

How it works?

Vitamin C

Apply vitamin C in the morning for an all-day urban shield against everyday environmental factors which can cause skin ageing. Not to mention the incredible radiance this ingredient gives the skin. It's glow in a bottle.

  • Antioxidant protection
  • Stimulates collagen production
  • Blocks the development of pigment
  • Makes skin smoother and brighter

Sunscreen

Apply sunscreen daily without fail (even when it’s cloudy) to protect your skin from the sun’s damaging UVB (burning) and UVA (ageing) rays. We recommend a minimum SPF30 as your last step before makeup.

  • Beautifully light but powerful sunscreens
  • Protects and nourishes the skin
  • Doesn’t feel sticky or greasy
  • Fundamental for a youthful complexion

Vitamin A

Vitamin A is generally applied only at night. It is the gold-standard of anti-ageing. Highly regarded by dermatologists and skin therapists alike, it is second to none when it comes to improving signs of photoageing.

  • Most important ingredient in anti-ageing
  • Speeds up cellular renewal
  • Reduces sebum production
  • Rejuvenates skin while you sleep

“Start at age 30 and we believe you can look 40 when you're 50. ”

3 Tonnes of plastic saved

We are an anti-ageing brand that thinks like a natural brand. We have always believed in 'green chemistry', but with growing understanding of the severity of the pollution crisis, now is the time to push this to new heights. In 2018, we replaced hundreds of thousands of plastic parts with recycled paper, and every piece of paper-based packaging is either recycled or FSC certified. And this is just the start.

Patch Test Guide

We recommend performing a patch test before incorporating any new product into your routine. They are a quick and easy way to assess whether you may have a negative reaction to a new skincare product.

Why do I need a patch test?

Although relatively rare, reactions from allergies and sensitivities to certain ingredients in any skincare product can occur. With increases in the amount of products which people are using within their skincare routines, we feel it is good practice to patch test a product before using it fully, to help identify if you have a particular sensitivity to one or more of the ingredients.

Of course, we cannot rely on patch tests alone so it's important you follow the directions for use and precautions carefully on all products, including ceasing use if you have any irritation. That being said, patch tests are a useful tool to predict if you may have a negative reaction to a new product.

How do I perform a patch test?

1) Apply a small amount of product onto a clean area of skin on the upper forearm. Allow the area to dry for 5 minutes before dressing or touching the area.

2) Keep the area dry.

3) Rinse the area with water after 24 hours.

4) If any burning, excessive redness, blistering, itching or irritation is observed at any point during the patch test, do not use the product.

If you do experience any form of irritation during your patch test please contact our lovely customer service team at hello@medik8.com.

Important:

The patch testing procedure tests for initial reactions to products. It does not guarantee that similar results will be observed when the product is applied to other areas of the body (eg. the face), and after continuous use of the product. The patch test will not account for underlying conditions. It should not be used to diagnose hypersensitivity or allergic contact dermatitis, unless under the supervision of a doctor. If you have any concerns, please contact your doctor or dermatologist for advice.
